Howland / Tilley Tour of England

This is a start at uploading the presentation of the Howland / Tilley tour of England first viewed at the 2022 Annual Meeting. The tour was organized for 2020 by board member Andrew Whipple in consultation with Reformation Tours, LLC and Tom Bartlett, a Howland Society member living in the U.K. As we all know 2020 did not unfold the way we hoped. The tour was postponed until 2021. It was determined it was still not safe to travel so finally in 2022 the tour set off for England.

(Upper right)The coach seemed as big as an American department store but was expertly driven by Ian who managed to maneuver on some very narrow English roads.

(Upper Left) This is the first group shot, we were still sorting ourselves out as we walked to Buckingham Palace.

(Lower right) The loop we followed on this tour. We covered a fair amount of ground in ten days and visited sites connected directly to John Howland and Elizabeth Tilley and sites from the pilgrim's time.

These are shots of Buckingham Palace. We only had a short time here as part of our bus tour of London.

The original built for the duke of Buckingham in 1703 it was taken over by George the III and enlarged in 1837 as the residence for Queen Victoria.

As the bus traveled through London our guide pointed out a few well known sites -
St. Paul's Cathedral, Tower Bridge, and The statue of Lord Nelson in Trafalglar Square.
